Important: In-home physical therapy does not replace post-operative medical care. Follow your surgeon’s instructions for incision care, medications, weight-bearing, activity restrictions, and follow-up appointments. Contact your surgical team promptly for redness or worsening pain at the incision, cloudy drainage, fever, or other signs of infection.
After surgery, every day of recovery matters. Getting the right physical therapy quickly, consistently, and safely is one of the biggest factors in how well and how fast you heal. For many patients, traveling to a clinic in the early weeks after surgery is painful, exhausting, and logistically difficult at exactly the moment when it matters most.
Anthony Daffner-Milos, Doctor of Physical Therapy, brings concierge-level, one-on-one post-surgical rehabilitation directly to your home, so you can focus entirely on healing without the burden of transportation, waiting rooms, or shared clinic equipment.
Anthony serves patients recovering from surgery of the brain and head, spine, extremities, chest and thorax, and abdominal organs throughout Naples, Marco Island, and surrounding areas.
After surgery, getting to a clinic may be difficult because of pain, limited mobility, fatigue, transportation needs, or temporary activity restrictions. In-home PT can make it easier to begin and continue appropriate rehabilitation without adding a clinic trip to the recovery routine.
Treatment can also focus on the real movements required at home, such as getting out of bed, standing from a chair, moving through hallways, managing stairs, entering the shower, and walking indoors or outdoors.
Depending on your procedure, surgeon’s instructions, and current abilities, in-home physical therapy may include:
Post-surgical patients have compromised immune systems and open or healing incision sites. Exposure to the bacteria and pathogens present in shared clinic environments is a documented risk for surgical site infection, which can delay recovery significantly and in serious cases require additional intervention.
In-home care removes that exposure entirely. Every visit from Anthony includes:
Anthony’s practice is guided by the principle of Kina Olé: doing the right thing, in the right way, at the right time, in the right place, to the right person, for the right reason, with the right feeling, the first time. Every session is built around that standard.
| In-home PT may be helpful when… | Outpatient PT may be a better fit when… |
|---|---|
| Travel is difficult, painful, or requires significant assistance | The patient can travel safely and prefers a clinic environment |
| The main challenges involve transfers, stairs, bathroom access, or moving safely at home | Specialized clinic equipment or a broader rehabilitation team is needed |
| Caregiver instruction and a home-safety review are priorities | More frequent or intensive rehabilitation is appropriate |
| The surgeon has cleared home-based rehabilitation and the patient is medically stable | The surgical or medical team recommends clinic, hospital-based, or other specialized care |
The right care setting depends on the surgery, medical stability, insurance or payment arrangement, transportation, available support, and the recommendations of the surgeon and rehabilitation team.
The sooner post-surgical physical therapy begins, the better your outcomes. Anthony is available to discuss your surgery, your recovery goals, and how in-home concierge PT fits into your care plan.
